Pin It Warm, gooey, and irresistibly savory, these sliders are the ultimate crowd-pleaser for gatherings, game days, or potlucks. Soft rolls are layered with ham and Swiss cheese, topped with a buttery, tangy glaze, and baked until melty and golden.
I first made these sliders for a family game night, and everyone loved how the buttery glaze made the buns extra flavorful. They disappeared within minutes, and now they're requested for every party!
Ingredients
- Slider buns: 12, or use Hawaiian rolls
- Deli ham: 12 slices (about 250 g (9 oz))
- Swiss cheese: 12 slices (about 180 g (6 oz))
- Butter (unsalted): 85 g (6 tbsp), melted
- Dijon mustard: 1 tbsp
- Poppy seeds: 1 tbsp
- Worcestershire sauce: 1 tbsp
- Onion: 1 tbsp finely minced
- Garlic powder: 1/2 tsp
- Salt: 1/2 tsp
- Black pepper: 1/4 tsp
Instructions
- Prepare baking dish:
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Lightly grease a 23x33 cm (9x13-inch) baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
- Slice buns:
- Slice the slider buns in half horizontally, keeping the tops and bottoms attached. Place the bottom halves in the prepared dish.
- Layer ham and cheese:
- Layer a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese on each bun bottom. Place the bun tops over the cheese.
- Mix glaze:
- In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, Dijon mustard, poppy seeds, Worcestershire sauce, minced onion, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until combined.
- Coat and rest:
- Pour the glaze evenly over the assembled sliders, using a spatula or brush to spread it so all tops are well coated. Let sit for 5 minutes to absorb.
- Bake:
- Cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake an additional 5 minutes, or until cheese is melted and tops are golden brown.
- Serve:
- Let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Slice and serve warm.
Pin It My kids always help with layering the ham and cheese, and it's become a fun weekend tradition for us to make these together. Seeing everyone gather around the table for fresh, warm sliders makes for the best memories.
Notes
Swap Swiss cheese for cheddar or provolone for a different flavor, or use honey ham for a hint of sweetness. Serve with pickles or a side salad for a complete meal.
